The Offline Brain

NZ$49 Wikipedia, NZ maps, your own offline AI + bonus playbookGet it →

Everyone else is betting the cloud stays up. You're not. Everything you'd search for, on your own laptop, for the day the internet, the cloud or AI goes dark. If that day never comes, you still own a superb offline library, and you have 30 days to change your mind.

What's included

The whole library, and the set-up done for you.

You could find and set up every piece yourself. Most people never will. We did the work, tested it and packed it into one installer. One evening and you're done.

01

Wikipedia, offline

Every English article with images, searchable from one box. The Kiwix build we test is 119 GB.

02

WikiMed

The medical encyclopedia for reference reading when you can't get online. It is not medical advice: in an emergency call 111.

03

NZ map pack

The whole country from OpenStreetMap: roads, tracks, towns, huts and landmarks, readable with no signal.

04

Offline AI assistant

A small open-licence model set up to run on your laptop. Plain-English questions, with Wikipedia beside it to check answers.

05

The playbook

"When the internet goes down": a short guide to the first hour, day and week of an outage, as a PDF to print.

06

A year of updates

We email you each time there's a new tested build. One click to update.

113 incidents posted by OpenAI, Claude, Cloudflare and GitHub on their own status pages in the last 30 days. The Offline Brain doesn't need any of them.

Questions.

All questions →

What do I actually receive?
An email with the installer, the setup guide, the playbook PDF, the NZ map pack and the licence file. The installer then downloads Wikipedia, WikiMed and the assistant from their official sources.
How much space do I need?
English Wikipedia with images is 119 GB on its own, so plan for more than that. The installer checks your free space before it starts.
How long does setup take?
Mostly download time, which depends on your connection. On a 100 Mbps line, 119 GB takes roughly 3 hours. You can leave it running.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 30 days. Email us and we'll refund your payment.
