The Offline Brain

Your own copy of the answers, for the day the cloud goes quiet.

Prefer it on a USB, ready to plug in? Join the waitlist.

Your own AI assistant on your own laptop, with Wikipedia and WikiMed beside it to check what it says. If AI or the cloud goes down or goes wrong, you're ready. If that day never comes, you still own a very good offline library, and you have 30 days to change your mind.

What's included

Your own AI and library, set up for you.

You could find and set up every piece yourself. Most people never will. We did the work, tested it and packed it into one installer. One evening and you're done.

01

Your own offline AI

A small open-licence model set up to run on your laptop. Plain-English questions, with Wikipedia beside it to check answers.

02

Wikipedia, offline

Every English article with images, searchable from one box. The Kiwix build we test is 119 GB.

03

WikiMed

The medical encyclopedia for reference reading when you can't get online. It is not medical advice: in an emergency call your local emergency number.

04

US map pack

From OpenStreetMap: roads, tracks, towns and landmarks, readable with no signal.

05

The playbook

"When the internet goes down": a short guide to the first hour, day and week of an outage, as a PDF to print.

06

A year of updates

We email you each time there's a new tested build. One click to update.

113 incidents posted by OpenAI, Claude, Cloudflare and GitHub on their own status pages in the last 30 days. The Offline Brain doesn't need any of them.

Before you buy

Questions.

All questions →

What do I actually receive?
An email with the installer, the setup guide, the playbook PDF, the map pack and the licence file. The installer then downloads the assistant, Wikipedia and WikiMed from their official sources.
How much space do I need?
English Wikipedia with images is 119 GB on its own, so plan for more than that. The installer checks your free space before it starts.
How long does setup take?
Mostly download time, which depends on your connection. On a 100 Mbps line, 119 GB takes roughly 3 hours. You can leave it running.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 30 days. Email us and we'll refund your payment.
